Text presented graphically – negative SEO factor

Author: admin | Files under SEO tips

I have seen many blogs with a logo that has a name and description on it. I agree that PhotoShop may help you make a very lovely logo however the disadvantage is that Google can’t see it, it is invisible to search engines. So if you try to make a search engine friendly blog try using alternative text to describe every link or picture including you logo. This shouldn’t be forgotten because this ON-Page SEO factor isn’t in the last place and is very important. Also I would like to say that every page or every post should have had actual body text. Text presented in graphics form only is a bad idea and shouldn’t be used. I have seen many blogs with a picture or two on a page only and no additional text. These blogs were not ranked well on Google. So don’t try to represent a text graphically because it is not visible to search engines. Nonetheless you can use a logo with a description on it but don’t forget to add an alternative (alt) text which can be visible to search engines. For blogs that use pictures only I may recommend to add a sentence or two to describe your image. Also take a look at the SEO tips that may help you optimizing your blog.
