Trackback spam

Author: admin | Files under Blogging tips

Every time you write an unique post you get a linkback. It is a type of linkback. First, you need to approve it. This way web authors send you notification about the linkback. But you may decide to approve or decline a link so I will try to explain what to do with these links.

Web authors don’t send you notification because everything is done automatically. When you write a post, a part of your post appears on other blog with a link to your original article. This way you get a trackback. This is called Trackback spam so if you approve trackback link you will link to that blog. It is highly recommended not to approve trackbacks however I have noticed that I got some traffic from blogs like these spam blogs. It is not a significant traffic. These kind of blogs have lots of posts (actually an extract of a post) and these blogs may be related to SEO, movies, diet or any other subject.

Keep your blog clean of trackbacks unless its not a spam. Every link on your blog may affect your page rank so if you want to know more read about Google action on paid links.

Update:

To show how it really works just look at the picture. Next day after posting this post I found 2 trackbacks on my comment list. Of course I have deleted them.
