Google Panda and Penguin have been ripping through websites, and many Webmasters are scared that they will never beat the Google Panda penalty. While it is going to take some work, getting rid of the penalty really isn’t that difficult. Panda mainly focuses on quality, and that is what you need to improve. Follow these simple steps to improve your ranking.
Curate Articles
Many article directories and large content websites are now editing and improving their articles. Google likes seeing articles that improve the user experience, so that is best to focus on. Look at your articles to find any errors. Google doesn’t care much about small errors, like a common misspelling or comma splicing, but it does care about very poor content.
Articles that have massive grammar issues are generally made from spinners, and they commonly diminish the user experience. Adding some Web 2.0 elements, such as videos and images, can also help.
Lower Optimization
When SEO first started, many Webmasters would use keywords as much as possible to improve their rank. That practice has diminished in the following years, but now Google is really stepping down on it.
Ensure all of your articles are not over-optimized. Using any one keyword multiple times without making sense, especially in an article that is fewer than 500 words, can be labeled as over-optimized. Keep the keyword count low and natural.
Reduce Bad Links
If you read online SEO articles and guides which talk about getting as many links as possible in order to help your rankings then you may fall into a trap of getting bad quality links since the era of massive link building is over. This is outdated information in the Google Panda era. Having thousands of low-quality links will actually drag your website down the search engine.
Focus instead of getting good links. Ensure the links come from relevant websites, and try to get links from websites that have a high PageRank. If you are using any automated link building tools, especially the blackhat ones that throw thousands of links at your website, then stop using them immediately.
Too Many Advertisements
Making money with your website is great, but it can really pull your website down if you are using too many adverts. Having a few PPC ad blocks and an affiliate ad banner is fine. The problems start when you load your website down with several PPC ads, many affiliate banners, both pop-up and pop-under ads, interstitial ads, JavaScript pop-up boxes and every other ad in the book.
If your website is moving slowly because of all the ads, then it is time to cut back. Google looks at both the number of advertisements on your website, and the website’s loading speed. Slow websites with many ads are given the Google penalty. There’s a lot of information on the methods to improve website’s loading speed. Just follow the link.
Trim the Website
Growing your website with new articles can help you out, but this is something that is not often addressed. Trimming your website can also have a positive effect. If you have many low-quality posts that aren’t bringing in much traffic, then it might be better just to erase them.
This allows you to concentrate on editing your better articles, and it improves the general rank of your entire domain. Only do this for posts without much potential because editing articles is usually preferable.
Conclusion
Recovering from the Google Panda penalty can be tough, but there are some simple things you can do to improve your rank. Just ensure your website works well, improves the user experience and uses good posts. It is also a good idea to stop any bad linking strategies, so that your website only feels the good effects of powerful links.

nice insights and nice post . Tell me one thing . Last night I commented in a tech blog on a post about the recent updates made by Google . They didn’t approve my comment or reply me . However placing the same question to you also . In WordPress, we use tags .Each tag creates a different URL . That means if I place 4 tags on each article , there will be total 5 URLs for a same post including to base URL . People use phrases also as tags and phrases act like keywords. Suppose , all tags are optimized and indexed in Google.they appear in search engines for five different queries . But they all bring visitors to a base URL. Will it be considered as URL duplication ?
